Frequently asked questions
Everything we get asked before people order. If your question isn't here, message us on the Contact page — we answer every one.
What exactly do I receive?
You receive the HaloScalp LED cap, its charging cable and a user manual. The cap is the light therapy device itself — there is nothing else to buy and nothing to assemble.
How is this different from a laser helmet?
Most light therapy devices are rigid domes or helmets you have to sit still under. HaloScalp is a soft-shell cap that runs on its own battery, so you can use it while making coffee, working, or walking around the house. That's the entire point of the design: the treatment people actually keep up with is the one that fits into what they already do.
How do I use it?
Put it on, choose an intensity level and wear it. Consistency matters far more than session length — a few sessions a week that you actually stick to will serve you better than an intensive first fortnight followed by a drawer. Recommended timings are in the manual in the box.
What are the intensity levels for?
The cap has three intensity levels so you can start low and build up as your scalp gets used to it, and vary session intensity to suit your schedule. Full details are in the instructions in the box.
What results should I expect?
We want to be straight with you, because this is the question that matters most at this price.
Light therapy is gradual, not dramatic. It is a supportive addition to a scalp care routine — not a medical treatment and not a guaranteed fix. Results vary considerably from person to person, and some people will see little or no change. Anyone promising you certain regrowth on a fixed timeline is overselling.
If hair loss is causing you real concern, please speak to a GP or dermatologist. There are clinically established treatments, and a light therapy device is not a substitute for proper medical advice.
Is it safe?
The device uses low-level red and near-infrared LEDs and is designed for ordinary home use. Do not look directly into the LEDs. If you have a scalp condition, are photosensitive, are taking medication that increases light sensitivity, or are pregnant, check with a doctor before using it. It is not intended for children.
Is it a medical device?
No. It is a consumer scalp care product. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition.
Will people notice I'm wearing it?
It's shaped like a normal cap, so from a distance it reads as one. That discretion is deliberate — it's the reason a lot of customers choose a cap over a helmet.
Will it fit me?
The shell is soft and flexible and is designed to fit standard adult head sizes. If it doesn't work for you, our returns policy covers you.
Do you ship to my country?
We ship to 28 countries across Europe, North America, Asia, Australasia and the Middle East. The full list and delivery estimates are on our Shipping information page.
How long does delivery take?
Dispatch takes 1–2 business days. After that, expect 7–18 business days across Europe and the UK, and 10–20 business days elsewhere. Outside the EU and UK you may be charged import duty by your own customs authority. Full detail is on the Shipping information page.
What if it isn't right for me?
You have a 14-day legal right to cancel, and we extend that to a 30-day returns window for any reason. Full detail is in our returns policy. If it's faulty, we cover the return postage.
Do you actually reply?
Yes. We're a small operation and messages come to a real person. If you've ordered and something has gone wrong, contact us before anything else — we'd far rather fix it than have you sit with a product you're unhappy with.
